Ever heard of an Israeli Bandage?

The emergency bandage was developed in Israel in 1984. Eventually, during 1991 the idea and the design were developed enough to receive a government support grant. This eventually led to the first bandages being sold in 1998. While the Israeli Bandage is used by the United States and International military units, the bandage is also used by EMS, Industrial, and Hospitals. Who knew!?

The emergency bandage is a great addition to a personal First Aid Kit at home, in the vehicle, or any E-kit stored in an environment where the risk of traumatic injury is high. For years, one of the most preventable causes of death in non-fatally wounded people has been the inability to quickly and effectively stop bleeding. The Israeli Bandage can be applied with a single hand and successfully stops bleeding. They are similar to elastic bandages used to treat sprain injuries.

So what makes this bandage unique?

Israeli Bandage's have three key features:

1. Sterile non-adherent dressing - allows removing the bandage without reopening a wound.
2. Pressure applicator - placed over the wound to stop bleeding by adding pressure. It allows changing the direction of the bandage and wrapping it around the wound once in various directions, making bandaging easier.
3. The closure bar at the end of the bandage - secures the bandage and adds pressure to a wound. It allows the bandage to clip steadily in place without slipping.

This is an emergency bandage that gets the job done and useful in any situation from around the house to school, paramedics, tactical situations, or as part of any survival kit. I could say that this would be a great buy. Two thumbs up!
